Why is the result sometimes smaller than exactly 50KB?

JPG and WebP encoders do not produce every possible file size. ToolWisp searches for the highest-quality result that fits at or below your target. That means a 50KB target might produce a file such as 48.7KB or 49.6KB.

Compress Image to 50KB FAQ

How do I compress an image to 50KB?

Upload the image, keep the target at 50KB, then click Compress Image. ToolWisp automatically adjusts quality and dimensions to get the result at or below the target.

Will the result be exactly 50KB?

The compressor aims for the highest-quality result at or below 50KB. The final file may be slightly smaller because image encoders do not produce every possible byte size.

Can I choose a target other than 50KB?

Yes. Use the presets or enter your own target size in KB.

Can I upload PNG images?

Yes. PNG images can be uploaded. The compressed output is exported as JPG or WebP because these formats provide more predictable target-size compression.

Why does the image resolution sometimes become smaller?

If reducing image quality is not enough to meet a very small target size, ToolWisp gradually reduces the pixel dimensions. This helps reach targets such as 20KB or 50KB while keeping the image usable.

Does ToolWisp upload my image?

No. Compression happens locally inside your browser using HTML canvas.
