How to resize an image
Upload forms want exact dimensions, platforms crop whatever doesn't fit, and emails choke on 4000-pixel photos. The resizer gives you precise control: exact pixels, kept proportions, and the right output format for the job.
Add your image
Click or drag a JPG, PNG or WebP into the upload area — it stays on your device.
Set the size
Type exact pixels or tap a preset. The aspect lock keeps proportions so nothing looks stretched.
Resize & download
Compare original and result side by side, then download as PNG or JPEG.
Getting sizes right for each platform
A square 1080×1080 covers Instagram feed posts, 1080×1920 is the universal story and reel format, 1920×1080 fits presentations and YouTube thumbnails, and 400×400 works for most profile pictures. Two rules keep results sharp: resize down rather than up (upscaling only interpolates and blurs), and pick JPEG for photos but PNG for screenshots, graphics and anything with text or transparency — JPEG's compression smears hard edges, while PNG keeps them crisp.
Frequently asked questions
How do I resize an image to exact pixel dimensions?
Upload the image, type the target width and height in pixels and click Resize. With the aspect lock enabled, changing one dimension adjusts the other automatically so the image isn't distorted.
Will my image get distorted?
Not with the aspect ratio lock on — proportions are kept automatically. Disable the lock only if you deliberately want to stretch the image to different proportions.
Should I export as PNG or JPEG?
JPEG for photos (much smaller files), PNG for graphics, screenshots, logos and anything needing transparency. The quality slider applies to JPEG output.
Does enlarging a small image improve its quality?
No — upscaling can't add detail that isn't there; it interpolates pixels and looks soft. Resizing down keeps images sharp; resizing up trades size for blur.
