Fair draws you can defend
For a public giveaway, "trust me, I picked randomly" doesn't hold up. This picker uses the browser's cryptographic random source — the same class of randomness used for security keys — so every name has exactly the same probability and neither you nor the website can nudge the result. The draw history gives you a record of every pick in order, and the "remove winners" option enforces the most common giveaway rule automatically: nobody wins twice. Since the list never leaves your browser, it's also safe to paste real participant or student names.

How do I pick a random winner from a list of names?
Paste your names into the box, one per line, and click Pick. The tool draws a winner using a cryptographic random source, shows a short shuffle animation and adds the result to the history.
Can I draw multiple winners at once?
Yes. Set the number of winners before drawing — for example 3 winners for first, second and third prize. Each name can win only once per draw.
Is the draw really fair?
Yes. Winners are selected with the browser's cryptographic random number generator, giving every name exactly the same chance. The website cannot influence the result.
Can winners be excluded from the next draw?
Enable "Remove winners from list" and drawn names are taken out of the pool automatically — useful when one person shouldn't win twice.
Are the names uploaded anywhere?
No. The list stays in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, which makes the tool safe for participant and student names.
